This year the ME-award, an independent prize, was handed out for the fourth time. The lucky winner was Cas Bnierink. On the one hand the award wants to gain attention for talented young artists who take independent positions and on the other hand it wants to emphasize the importance of young and private patronage. In that sense, the award is also intended as a call to the public to be actively engaged in art. The initiator of the prize is Mique Eggermont. She is an independent art historian and was a participant in the start up of artist initiative HedaH and the Open Source Urban Campus. For many years Mique has been critically engaged in various ways with our Fine Arts department.
